Wantable and Stitch Fix have been supplying their members with stylish outfits that are perfect for their unique style preferences since 2011. We've reviewed hundreds of Stitch Fix "Fixes" and Wantable "Edits" and we think both subscription boxes have a lot to offer.

Here's a quick overview of each service:

• Stitch Fix sends members 5 items of clothing and accessories based on an in-depth style profile. You have 3 days to try on your items at home before returning items you don't want to keep and checking out online for the items that you want. You can order a Fix whenever you choose or sign up for automatic shipments. Your styling fee goes towards any purchase you make and you receive 25% off your total order if you keep all 5 items.
• Wantable sends members 7 items of clothing and accessories based on an in-depth style profile, as well as prioritizing items requested from the Wantable Stream. Return items you don't want to keep within 5 days and your styling fee goes towards any purchase you make. You get 20% off your order if you decide to keep 5 or more items.

Wantable vs. Stitch Fix - Plans & Pricing

Wantable

Wantable offers a women's style edit as well as a women's active edit (there's also a men's active edit) that features workout clothes and loungewear. Wantable offers plus sizes up to 3X (same as Stitch Fix) but does not currently carry maternity sizes. They also offer limited-time Themed edits (i.e. Home for the Holidays).

For every edit, there is a $20 styling fee that goes towards any purchase you make from your edit. If you keep 5 or more items, you'll receive a 20% discount. Wantable's products typically range from $50-$100 per item and your stylist can also find items at your desired price point.

Stitch Fix

Stitch Fix offers styling for women's, men's, and children's clothing and accessories. For women's styling, Stitch Fix offers plus size, petite, and maternity sizing. For men's styling, they offer big and tall sizes, and for kids' styles, they offer fits for toddlers, kids, and tweens.

For every Stitch Fix plan, there is a $20 styling fee and you receive a $20 credit for any purchase you make from your Fix. If you keep all 5 items, you receive a 25% discount that is applied before the $20 credit.

For women's and men's clothing, the prices range from $25 - $500, while kids' items start at $10. You can set your price preferences for different categories, so your stylist can select items within your budget.

Wantable works in much the same way as Stitch Fix, with a stylist who hand-picks items for you based on a comprehensive style survey. Wantable also wants to surprise and hopefully delight you with their selections, so you don't see your picks until your subscription box arrives at your door. However, Wantable features a Wantable Stream that lets members request and decline items. Your stylist will prioritize items that you've requested from the Stream based on availability and you won't receive any items that you decline.

While Wantable's discount is less than Stitch Fix's, you only need to purchase 5 of the 7 items to receive the discount (as opposed to having to purchase all 5 of the items Stitch Fix sends you), which gives members a bit more wiggle room to activate their discount. Something that Wantable offers that Stitch Fix doesn't is the ability to exchange items that will count towards your discount if you end up purchasing the new item. Stitch Fix also offers free exchanges but you don't receive a Buy All discount unless you purchase all of the items from a Fix.

After choosing your Stitch Fix plan and filling out an in-depth style profile, you're ready to receive your first Fix. Your answers to the style questionnaire will inform which items you receive but you can also leave a detailed note to your stylist and even create a Pinterest board for your stylist to work off of. You won't be able to see what you're getting before your Fix but you're under no obligation to buy anything you don't love – although you will lose out on your $20 credit if you don't purchase anything from your Fix.

Aside from the 5 clothing and accessories (bags, shoes, and jewelry) items in your subscription box, you can also request 'extras' to be added to Women's, Men's, and Maternity Fixes. Stitch Fix Extras are essentials that you can add to your order and include items such as socks, undergarments, and other basics, as well as any variety of limited-time items. Your $20 styling fee can be applied towards the purchase of Extras but your purchase of Extras does not count toward the Buy All discount.

Wantable vs. Stitch Fix - Shipping & Returns

Wantable

Wantable is available in all U.S. states and territories but currently does not ship internationally. Shipping, returns, and exchanges are free and the default is 5 days for returning items that you do not wish to keep. However, you can also extend your try-on window if you need more time to decide.

Stitch Fix

Stitch Fix is available in all U.S. states and territories and there's also Stitch Fix UK. Shipping, returns, and exchanges are free and you have 3 days to try on your items at home before sending them back in the included returns shipping bag. If you need more time, it's easy to extend your try-on period in your account settings. Make sure to provide feedback for any item you send back, so your next Fix can be even better tailored to your style needs.

Wantable vs. Stitch Fix - Brands & Sizing

Wantable

Wantable offers hundreds of premium brands such as Hudson, Cupcakes & Cashmere, Kensie, Kut From the Kloth, Lyssé, Onzie, Beyond Yoga, Wear it to Heart, Rhone, and Alternative Apparel. The products include clothing and accessories such as bags, scarves, and jewelry (but no footwear) that typically range from $50-$100 per item. You can choose which accessory types you don't want to receive and your stylist can either introduce you to more unique items or send must-have staples whether it's a new pair of jeans, a v-neck t-shirt, or a long-sleeve cardigan depending on your preferences.

Style Edits and women’s Active Edits are available in sizes XS-3X (0-24W), while Men’s Active Edits are available in sizes S-XXL.

For women's, Stitch Fix works with more than 250 established and up-and-coming labels and brands such asclothing and accessories by Kut From The Kloth, Eloquii, Joie, Gorjana, and Citizens of Humanity. Stitch Fix strives to introduce members to new brands and also offer premium brands with price points up to $500. You can select to receive premium brands or opt for more affordable options. Stitch Fix offers clothing and accessories such as bags, shoes, jewelry, and scarves.

For men's, Stitch Fix offersmore than 30 established and emerging men’s brands such as Ben Sherman, Original Penguin, Scotch & Soda, 7 For All Mankind, and Mavi. Like Stitch Fix, you can order a one-time Wantable Edit or enroll in automatic shipments. It's easy to change the frequency from your account. Unlike Stitch Fix, however, you can choose to receive your Edit on a certain date and shipping takes 3-5 business days for first time orders in the U.S.

Stitch Fix

You can schedule a Fix to arrive on a certain date and Stitch Fix will do its best to get it to you when you requested it. While it's not guaranteed that your Fix will arrive on the exact date you requested, you can plan months ahead if you want. You can order a one-time Fix whenever you choose or schedule automatic fixes to arrive every 2-3 weeks, every month, every other month, or every 3 months. It's easy to change the frequency of your Fixes or cancel automatic Fixes from your account.

If you find online shopping daunting and want a personal shopper to do all the heavy lifting for you, then you really can't go wrong with either styling service. Both Stitch Fix and Wantable charge a $20 styling fee that serves as a monthly credit that you can use towards the purchase of any item in your shipment. And both offer discounts when you buy all or almost all of the items that your stylist picks for you.
