of FOREST, MISSISSIPPI SCOTT COUNTY TIMES WEDNESDAY, JULY 3, 1968 Miss Broadhead Married To Mr. Johnnie Malone Miss Carmen Colleen Broadhead, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Calvin C. Broadhead, Morton, became the bride of Johnnie Earl Malone, son of Mrs.

Sybil Warren and the late Mr. Lonnie Malone of Pensacola, Florida in a candle-light ceremony in the East Baptist Church. Rev. Lilbourne H. McCollough, uncle of the bride, performed the double ring ceremony.

Music was provided by Mrs. Jessie Ray Parker, pianist and Mrs. A. H. Overstreet, soloist.

Mrs. Kennieth C. McCollough, aunt of the bride, directed the wedding. Jade, candelabra holding white tapers and baskets of white gladiolas and chrysanthemums formed the background. The bride, escorted by her father, worea floor -length gown of candle-light organza drapped in Chantilly lace, tied with organza bows.

The tight fitting lace-bodice with full length sleeves coming to a point over the hands, had a sabrina neckline. Her fingertip veil of illusion was attached to a crown of pearlized orange blossoms. The bride carried purplethroated white orchids attached to a Bible which had been presented to her by her church. Her only ornament was a strand of pearls, a gift from her paternal grandmother that had been given her by the father of the bride while serving in Japan during WWII. Miss Deborah Broadhead, sister of the bride, was maid of honor.

Bridesmaids were Miss Linda Malone of Pensacola, Florida, cousin of the groom and Miss Dianne McCollough, Greenville, cousin of the bride. They wore identical cage dresses of acqua silk organza gathered onto an acqua satin collar over heavy satin dress of matching color. The overdress had bell -type sleeves and lace trim. Their head -pieces were acqua circlets over -laid with tulle. They each carried a long stem white rose.

The grandmothers of the couple were honorary bridesmaids, they were: Mrs. Amanda McCollough, maternal grandmother of the bride, wearing a soft blue shantung ensemble, Mrs. Neta S. Broadhead, paternal grandmother of the bride of Hattiesburg, in a pink shantung, Mrs. Anne B.

Willie, maternal grandmother of the groom of Pensacola, Florida, in a pink lace, and Mrs. Fannie Malone, paternal grandmother of the groom of Pensacola, Florida, wore a soft blue all-over embroidery. Each carried a long stem white rose identical to the bridesmaids. Mrs. Susie Hensarling, Great -grandmother of the bride of Hattiesburg, was unable to attend.

The honorary bridesmaids were escorted by Mr. Hugh D. McCollough, of Detroit, Michigan and Mr. J. T.

Hensarling, of Metairie, Louisiana, maternal great-uncles of the bride. Mr. Tom Hampton of Ya200 City, served as best man and the groomsmen were Kennieth C. McCollough of Clarksdale, uncle of the bride and Larry Carpenter of Moss Point, cousin of the bride. The candles were lighted by Misses Marian, Deniece, Karian Allyce and LuAnne McCollough of Greenville, cousins of the bride.

The flower girl, Deanna Carpenter of Moss Point, wore a floor- -length white satin dress and carried a miniature bas- MRS. JOHNNIE MALONE ket of white carnations. Her head-piece was a white satin circlet over -laid with tulle. Tracy Broadhead, of Hattiesburg, cousin of the bride was the ringbearer. The bride's mother chose an off -white bonded crepe sheath dress and long-line lace jacket accented by a deep-rose headpiece and a matching rose corsage.

The mother of the groom chose a blue embroidery "soft satin ensemble with a pink carnation corsage. Reception Following the ceremony, the parents of the bride entertained with a reception on the lawn of their home. The bride's table, covered with a beige lace tablecloth and held a three-tier wedding cake. The cake was decorated with light -pink roses, silver leaves and topped with a miniature bride and bridegroom. Mrs.

Lilbourne H. McCollough of Greenville, aunt of the bride, registered the guests. Mrs. Dowling Malone of Pensacola, Florida, aunt of the groom, Mrs. Delma Lee Entriken, Lumberton, cousin of the bride, Mrs.

Donna Maron, Orlanda, Florida, sister of the groom, Mrs. Tom Hampton of Yazoo City, and Mrs. Vandalin Carpenter, Moss Point, aunt of the bride assisted in serving. The acqua net rice bags were made by Mrs. Amanda McCollough, grandmother of the bride.

Out of town guests were: Mrs. Annie B. Willie, Mrs. Sybil Warren, Fannie Malone, Mr. and Mrs.

For the wedding trip the bride wore an acqua perma -pleated whipped-cream sheath with a full -length white basket -weave whipped-cream cost having a low -cut neckline with a scalloped collar. Her hat was made of silk-organza matching her dress and she wore the orchid from her bridal bouquet. The couple will be at home in Student apartments on campus of University of Southern Mississippi where they plan to continue their education.

The parents of the bride entertained with a rehearsal supper on the eve of the wedding at their home in Morton where all -of -town guests and families were served. Mrs. V. R. Phillips assisted with the supper.

MISS EURE REVEALS WEDDING PERSONNEL Miss Judy Eure announces the plans for her wedding which will be solemnized Friday, July 12, at 7:00 p.m. in the Forest Methodist Church. Mrs. L. S.

Tarrer will direct the wedding. Mrs. Chester Mitchell, organist, and Mrs. Larry Ayco*ck, soloist, will furnish the music. The bride's sister, Mrs.

Jan Ormond spent the week end in Jackson in the home of her friend, Amy Dodson. Betty Vance of Meridian spent Tuesday and Wednesday in the home of Beth Ormond and attended the "Miss Hospitality" Coronation at the Town Theater on Tuesday night. Janie Lytton of Belhaven College and Gerais, Brazil, accompanied Beth Ormond home on Thursday and assisted in greeting people at the Hospitality Booth during the afternoon. Mrs. Trenton Shelton and Leah of Jackson visited in the home of her mother, Mrs.

V. R. Lackey on Monday and Tuesday and Linda, a former Miss Hospitality, participated in the Miss Hospitality Coronation on Tuesday night. Mr. and Mrs.

Virgil Porter, Charlotte Paige and Pam of Jackson visited in the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Sammy Wicker on Tuesday night. Mrs. Porter, (Elizabeth Carolyn Wicker), a former Miss Hospitality of Forest, participated in the Coronation on Tuesday night.

Charlotte Paige and Pam remained for a visit with their grandparents. Mrs. Jerry Hollifield, Jere, Stacy and Mark of Burlington, North Carolina have been visiting in the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Morgan.

Miss Jones is a graduate of Murrah High School where sue was a member of the Murrah Misses, Murrah Singers, National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, and The Thespians. She served as a maid in the 1964 Junior League Carnival Ball and was a member of the Cotillion Club of Jackson. The bride-elect attended the University of Mississippi, where she received her B. S. Degree in Commerce in May, 1968.

At Ole Miss, she was a member of Delta Gamma, serving her soroity as pledge trainer her junior year and president her senior year. She held offices in Phi Gamma Nu and Epsilon Gamma Epsilon business honoraries, and was 3 member of the University Dancers. Miss Jones was tapped for membership in Mortar Board and was elected to Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges. She was the recipient of the Malabouchia Chapter, National Secretaries Association Award on Honor's Day and was chosen a Top Five Beauty on campus. He attended Mississippi State University, where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree political science. While at State, Mr. Simmons was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon, serving h's fraternity as corresponding secretary his junior ear and vice president his senyear. He was Student Director of the MSU Building, and served on the President's Cabinet. The prospective bridegroom was a member of the Student Senate, Elder Statesmen, the Gavel Club, the Liberal Arts School Cabinet, and was a Dean's Scholar.

Mr. Simmons is presently attending the University of Mississippi School of Law, where he will receive his Juris Doctorate degree in June, 1969. He is a member of Phi Alpha Delta legal fraternity, and served as president of the Law II class. Mr. Simmons was also the recipient of an American Jurisprudence Award in Contracts.

The wedding will be solemnized August 22 at Woodland Hills Baptist Church in Jackson, with Dr. Fuller B. Saunders officiating. ANNOUNCEMENT TEA The engagement of Miss Jones and Mr. Simmons was the inspiration foranannouncement tea given by Mrs.

Logan Phillips and Mrs. Emmett Walker in the Phillips home on Brecon Drive. The bride-elect was radiant in an import of Camellia pink styled on princess linen. The sleeves were encrusted with chalk beads and iridescent sequins, highlighted by selffabric bows on the shoulders. With it Miss Jones wore matching pink accessories.

Mrs. Jerrell Jones, mother of the bride- elect wore a pearl white skimmer in angel lace, and Mrs. Alton Simmons, mother of the prospective bridegroom chose a sheath of pink linen. Guests were greeted by Mrs. Gibbs Fowler and Mrs.

Randolph Peets, during the tea hours. The grandmothers of the bride, Mrs. Robert Fred Laird and Mrs. Lamar Jones, greeted guests in the living room. Throughout the home a mixed variety of colorful spring and summer flowers were used.

The elegantly appointed tea table was overlaid with an imported cutwork linen cloth, and featured an arrangement of snapdragons, daisies, carnations and summer greens. Tea napkins with the names of the bridal couple and the date of the wedding revealed the engagement. Alternating at the cut glass punch bowl were Mrs. Delmar Simmons, Miss Louanne Williams, of Hazlehurst and Miss Frances McMurtray. Others assisting Mrs.

Maude McKenzie left Wednesday to spend the week end at Panama City, Florida, where they will be joined by Dr. and Mrs. Jim Ashmore and family of Leighton, Alabama. Kaye was attending summer school at Ole Miss, and Glynn was attending a two week course at Perkinston, Junior College, when they were called home on Wednesday.
